one-on-ones

So, i head back to Carson-Newman in less than a week. In the narrow window that i've had between the end of camp and moving back, I've taken time to have some pretty neat one-on-ones with people that I won't be in constant contact with once i move back. and that makes me sad. but i love the friends i've gotten to spend quality time with before i head back... let me tell you about them.

1. Paloma Floden- friend from high school. it's rare that laugher isn't a great majority of our time together. i love it. it's unfortunately not often that we get to see each other, but what i love about us is that we can ALWAYS pick up right where we left off. we went to Lupis downtown and as always with Paloma, it was an adventure. with many laughs. that i miss emmensely when we're apart...

2. Katie Woodruff- worked at camp with her this summer. She has such a way with words and communicates so wonderfully; i just love holding conversations with her about any and everything. We went to Chik-Fil-A and then shopping where we recieved 90% off (yes... NINETY PERCENT OFF... which is a story in and of itself... but it was GLORIOUS.) and had SO much fun as we had such a successful shopping trip... which is always bound to make a girl happy.

3. Natalie Hughes- my CO-counselor last year. (we lived together at camp and were in charge of the same 8 little girls for weeks at a time) so needless to say, we got to know each other REALLY well. natalie is pretty much a replica of myself, so it's so easy to know and understand where each of us is coming from. we went to typhoon and then starbucks then target! woo! natalie just graduated and is going to ETSU... even though i'm a few years older than her, i feel like she's just as mature as i am and could even sometimes be my long lost sister.

4. Anna Hall- friend from church. Anna's such a "get-the-job-done" kind of girl (if you know camp/myers-briggs lingo, she's a TOTAL "J"...),so she came over while i cleaned out my closet and got rid of clothes that i haven't worn in ages. it was a much needed clean and anna definitely helped with my decision making process and we got the job done! (she also introduced me to skype which might just be my newest fascination...) I love spending time with Anna as we tell one story after another, trying to update each other on our current lives.

5. Emily Geyer- just a down right blessing. i've already blogged this, but i'll say it again- i just love this girl. i could talk to her for hours about anything. As we encourage and build each other up, its fun to rejoice together as well as share our frustrations and struggles with each other. emily is so REAL and i love that about her... i respect her a ton. she's one of those friends you have that their opinion and advice truly does matter. We hung at University Pizza and Deli and it was fabulous. Time with her always flies by.. i always leave refreshed and loving our special bond!

So... This became a longer post than i expected because i just couldn't stop myself from telling you about such wonderful people in my life! My hope is to have many more, intentional, 1 on 1's throughout this semester, because they are ALWAYS sure to warm my heart and grow a friendship. :)
